During the production of Rapunzel, Bastion evolved from a lovable bear into a gypsy thief. Bastion, in this form, is very much based on the actor Johnny Depp. This is the final version of Rapunzel’s hero until Nathan Greno and Byron Howard took the directorial reigns and morphed this thief into Flynn Rider.

After Rapunzel: Unbraided was scrapped in the mid 2000’s, another version of the film was created with a bear like hero named Bastion. During this time, Glen Keane was the director of the film and it was simply called Rapunzel.

The second attempt by the Disney company to bring Rapunzel to the big screen included a Jack Black inspired prince and a much more comedic adventure. These are character designs from Rapunzel: Unbraided.

Tangled Ever After is a new short produced by Nathan Greno and Byron Howard, the directors of the original Tangled. The short will be featured before each showing of Beauty and the Beast 3D which is being released on January 13 2012.
